About this hackathon
The third Machine Learning for Microscopy Hackathon runs Dec 15–17, 2026 in hybrid format: in person at 70+ host sites worldwide (universities and national labs across North America, Europe and Asia) or fully online. Interdisciplinary teams use AI and data-driven tools on real microscopy data — imaging, hyperspectral analysis, spectroscopy, automation, active learning and simulators. Challenges are released Dec 14; registration is open until Dec 13 (in-person sites close Dec 6). Free; no AI expertise required.
