About this hackathon
A youth AI hackathon run by the Singapore society YCESS for students aged 7–24 from any country, judged separately in primary, secondary and university divisions. Teams of 1–4 pick one of four task types (art, robotics, social good or AI agents), submit by Jan 9, 2027, and the top 3–5 teams per division and track go to the in-person final in Singapore on Jan 16–17. Judging weights creativity (30%) and understanding and independent work (25%), not lines of code or hardware cost. Registration closes Jan 2, 2027; the fee is S$68 per student, with fee waivers available. S$35,550 in cash prizes.
