About this hackathon
A two-day in-person AI hackathon on Nov 7–8, 2026 (9 am–4 pm ET) hosted by the University of Miami's Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing and Miami Herbert Business School. Fifty selected UM undergrad and grad students form teams of 4–5, each with a dedicated mentor, and take an idea to a working prototype in one of four tracks: AI for health and wellbeing, AI for finance and fintech, AI for hospitality and entertainment, or an open wildcard track on AI for social good. Teams pitch to industry judges on Sunday afternoon. $15,000 in cash prizes, plus Microsoft student credits, Claude access and meals.
