About this hackathon
Canada's largest beginner-friendly hackathon, run by the student club nwPlus at UBC Vancouver for its 11th year. A Learn Week of drop-in workshops (Nov 2–6) leads into a 24-hour in-person Build Day (Nov 7–8). The challenge: pick a problem facing a community and build something with AI that makes a real difference. Open to current university and high school students and recent grads (within a year); no hackathon experience needed, solo or teams of 2–4, with team matching on site. There's a Beginner Prize, an Overall Prize and other awards, and nwPlus donates $5 to charity for every project submitted.
