A one-day, in-person agentic-AI hackathon in Astana, Kazakhstan on Sep 23, 2026, run during Kazakhstan's AI Month with OpenAI as a technology partner. Teams of up to three had five hours to build AI agents across ten areas (public services, education, health, fintech, mining, agriculture and more) and were required to use Codex. 2,415 people from 21 countries took part, setting a Guinness World Record for the largest agentic-AI hackathon. Participants shared about $1M in OpenAI technology resources; Demo Day was Oct 16 and awards on Oct 23.
