Vals AI's first in-person hackathon in The Mission, San Francisco, Nov 14–15, 2026: 150 free spots, teams of 1–4, 24 hours. Two tracks—(1) post-train a small model on three Vals benchmarks with sponsor compute and a live leaderboard, or (2) build a new eval on Valkyrie, Vals' open-source agent eval harness, for tasks frontier models still fail (Vals covers model and compute costs). Top projects featured on vals.ai. Prizes per track: Nintendo Switch 2 (1st), Apple AirPods Max 2 (2nd), WHOOP (3rd). Food included. Anyone can apply; preference for applicants with technical experience. Sponsored compute and support from OpenAI, Claude (Anthropic), and Thinking Machines.
