About this hackathon
The 12th MIT Energy & Climate Hack, Nov 6–8, 2026 on MIT's campus in Cambridge, MA. Companies present real energy and climate challenges on Friday night; teams of up to 4 work on an assigned challenge over the weekend, pitch to judges, and the top team per challenge goes to Sunday's finals. Open to students 18+ from any school, major and level (undergrad, master's, PhD, MBA); coding is not required. Free with meals; apply online (limited spots), travel reimbursement details are sent to accepted hackers. Past sponsors include Google, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, McKinsey Sustainability and Schneider Electric.
